NHL Alumni Give Pro Hockey Tips CFL Paul Lambert Too
March 09, 2008 08:10 AM PDT
08 NHL Alumni Remember the Passion Gala, Paul Lambert (CFL Montreal), Kraig Neinhuis (Boston), Gaston Gringras, Chris Nylan ( Canadiens ) , Dave Shultz (Flyers). One of My Top Reasons for attending the NHL Alumni Gala for Alzheimers Fundraising was to get a few tips for Young Hockey Players. The Alumni Players were more than happy to get the message out to young players. Even Gordie Howe had a message for the Young Players.

Watch this video clip and remember, if you want to score more goals you'll have to pass more. For the goalies, if you want less goals you'll have to cover-up the puck more often. If you can't cover-up then tell your defense to send the puck to the boards and out of harms way. Finally, you'll see an Interference/Holding penalty which happens often in non-contact hockey. Defense your much better off playing the puck than intefering with the forward. Thanks to the DDO Peewee BB Pirates for being in this clip. Émile “Butch” Bouchard and Gordie Howe Team Up
November 24, 2007 06:43 AM PST
Montreal – (Press Release) The organizing committee of the Remember The Passion (tm) NHL Alumni Game and Gala, along with the Alzheimer society of Montreal and the NHL Alumni, are proud to announce that Mr. Emile ”Butch” Bouchard has agreed to act as Honorary Chairman of the 2nd Annual Remember The Passion tm NHL Alumni Game and Gala. Once again, the passionately contested game between The Montreal Canadiens Alumni and the NHL Alumni will be held at the Dollard des Ormeaux Civic Center on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 2:00pm, followed by an evening of dinner and entertainment hosted by Hall of Fame broadcaster, Dick Irvin. Mr. Gordie Howe, famously known as Mr. Hockey (tm), will be behind the bench of the NHL Alumni team and will be attending the Gala evening as well. Facing him behind the bench of The Montreal Canadiens Alumni will be Stanley Cup winner Réjean Houle, Ambassador of the Club de Hockey Canadiens, who has been a strong supporter of this event from its inception. This exciting event helps raise funds for the Alzheimer Society of Montreal, whose mission is to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, as well as promote the search for a cause and cure. Funds will also be shared with the NHL Alumni’s “Hockey’s Greatest Family Fund”, a fund that helps former NHL players in need and in their transition to life after hockey. As Rick Muscant, Co-founder and Co-chairman of this event explains, “We are so honoured and thrilled to gain the support of Émile “Butch” Bouchard and Gordie Howe! Last year’s game and gala surpassed all our expectations, and we’re very excited about the event’s potential to raise awareness and money for two exceptional causes.” Last year’s game and gala raised over $80,000 – an impressive sum for a first-time fundraiser organized by a committee of volunteers from the West Island of Montreal. This eclectic mix of busy entrepreneurs, parents, and hockey fans, hope to exceed this amount, as well as host an event which pays tribute to an unforgettable era in Canadian hockey history, and to the people who, because of Alzheimer’s disease, have had their most cherished memories stolen. Members of the organizing committee for Remember The Passion TM, invite potential sponsors, as well as those interested in knowing more about the event, to contact Melissa Bellerose at the Alzheimer Society of Montreal, (514) 369-0800.

The league has now expanded to 10 teams and Dawson is having an undefeated season to date in 2007. They have come a long way since their beginning when wins were very hard to come by. Each year the team takes a trip to play in a tournament during the holidays and has won in Michigan, San Jose, Connecticut, New York, and Calgary. Head Coach: Scott Lambton

If your a forward you can have the element of surprise if you go ahead and use your defense. Make sure you have a proper passing lane to the tape on the defenseman's stick, and make eye contact to be sure the defenseman is ready for your pass. Then keep the puck on the ice and give the defenseman a quick pass. The defenseman can often sneek in deeper into the zone and fire. If your a winger in your defensive zone, you want to get there before the puck does or before the shot get s fired. Enjoy the action at an Arena near You !!! Quebec City Champions and Finalist from Dollard PeeWee BB
February 05, 2007 06:47 PM PST
WoW !!! What a Weekend for Dollard Hockey !!! Mitch Trapid, His Executives, Developers, and Volunteers have a lot to be proud about, just before hosting the NHL Alumni Game This week. This Weekend The PeeWee AA Vipers Won Another Tournament Becoming Champions Twice This Season,
The PeeWee BB Pirates Become 2007 Champions, and The PeeWee BB Buccaneers are 2007 Finalists at the Same Tournament.
This story wouldn't be complete without telling you about the Photographers Comments. He mentioned that in all his years and all his tournaments from up in Ile-Bizard to colleges around Quebec, he has never seen what happened over this past weekend. Not only did the Bucs come out and cheer loudly for the Pirates to win on Saturday night, but the Pirates came out to cheer loudly for the Bucs on Sunday morning.
If that wasn't enough, after the Final Game, the teams came together for Pictures, Congratulations, and Hugs ?? (To much information !).
Well for sure there was an incredible amount of respect for both teams from each other, and why not ? The Battle was heated with a few penalties and goals back and forth, then saves back and forth, Then 10 minutes of Overtime and more saves by Darren and Marco, who allowed no goals. The Bucs had even started with a five on three, but they couldn't get the puck past Marco as the Pirates killed off the Bucs advantages. Finally to a shoot-out, after a 3 - 3 tie game. 3 Shooters each, and finally the Pirate's Shooter found the back of the net after a careful deek. Ken Dryden #29 Retired Jersey Thank You Speech
